"I am impressed by her willingness to learn and by her ability to consider and accept truths that are far different from some of those she previously believed. I am equally impressed by the tenacity and certainty with which Roberta clings to those truths that are eternal.  i admire the way she uses her fine mind to think through each new idea.  Roberta does not accept or reject either ideas or people in whole groups, but gives thoughtful consideration to each one." -- From the Foreword by Peggy Campolo.

"Ultimately, this book is not only a tribute to the amazing woman who pulled it together.  This book is also a tribute to the faith and struggle of every person who had a hand in its creation.  The courage and commitmment of these people has been a source of encouragemnet, joy, and inspiration to us here at Chi Rho Press.  I hope it will be so for you.  I gladly commend From Wounded Hearts to you with pride." -- From R. Adam DeBaugh, Director, Chir Rho Press, Inc.

Finding one’s God-createdness is as natural for some as being part of a rich, flowing, spiritual stream. But for those not created heterosexual? For these persons, most Christian traditions require rejecting one’s own being or embracing spiritual isolation. The tragedy of being automatically rejected for one’s personhood has a high price tag of suffering – a dry desert. For the heterosexual majority, this rejection is an easy prejudice to absorb from a hateful culture and Christian tradition. Mrs. Kreider and the writers of this volume courageously offer accounts of painful but inspiring spiritual journeys. These personal journeys invite all to open their hearts to expand that understanding.

In my counseling practice, this book is life-giving for the spiritual self-acceptance of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons themselves and for their family members, as well as offering hope of connection to a Christian community. Blessings and gratitude to Mrs. Kreider and the contributors who offer an important dimension of God’s love and grace.
