This pastor and I worked together for several years in our church conference offices. My husband and I went to visit the church at Germantown and had an interview with her. When I asked her how she came to believe that it was right to include homosexual people as members, she replied, "My parental home was always an open and welcoming home, so I learned to accept all people." Further dialogue with our friend helped us understand why the congregation had to risk the censure of the conference body in order to follow the way God was leading them.
